A Meeting of the NZESG is planned for July 13-14, 1998. The meeting will be held in
Auckland and is timed to follow the Australasian meetings of the Econometric Society which
are on July 8-10.We now invite contributions for papers. This invitation is warmly
extended to overseas visitors as well as New Zealanders. We hope that people attending the
ESAM meetings in Canberra will consider attending the NZESG meeting in Auckland and we
welcome their contributions.
If you would like to contribute a paper, please send your proposals by e-mail before
the end of April, to the address below. At this stage, a title and abstract will be fine.
If you have a paper, or draft ready to send us please do so. Please send all papers and
abstracts by e-mail as .tex files or .doc files if possible. We hope to finalise the
program as soon as we have a good number of submissions.
We have some funds from our sponsors to support student travel and accommodation. We
are particularly keen to have graduate students involved in these meetings. So, please be
sure to bring this notice to any of your students who are far enough along in their
research to offer a contribution. In this event, it would be helpful if faculty were to
send along a note of recommendation to us.
Please also make any suggestions you think appropriate for a panel discussion session
for this meeting.
