Econometric Theory is the top field journal in econometrics specializing in theory. There is wide acknowledgement in the profession that ET has a high publication bar, little variance in standards, and serves authors and readers extremely well in terms of the value added from its review process. ET has built much of the foundation of modern econometrics through the publication of influential theory and high level expository papers.
